Advertise at the 2017 Festival!

The 2017 BlackStar Film Festival is expected to attract nearly 4,000 participants through its promotional marketing and strategic partnerships with national and regional sponsors. During this four-day event, the official Catalog provides information on the films, programs, and parties and is a wonderful opportunity to advertise products and services to our diverse audience. The Festival attracts an audience with highly desirable demographics, featuring a cross-section of millenials and gen-xers between the ages of 25 and 44. Patrons are a mix of upscale, sophisticated filmgoers from across the United States and other corners of the world.

BlackStar has two major advertising opportunities that allow your organization or business to reach our large and diverse audience. The first is through the purchase of print ad space in our high quality, full-color catalog. The second is a digital ad onscreen in the theater before film and educational programs.

Print

Deadline: June 19, 2017

Circulation: We print 2,000 copies of our program guide. Take a look at last year’s guide. The majority of those printed are distributed locally; however copies are circulated nationally and internationally to filmmakers, production companies, other film festivals, distributors, broadcasters, and sponsors.

Digital

Deadline: July 17, 2017

Circulation: We will screen 45 films over four days with audiences of 300-350 at each event. There will be approximately 12 film programs, 4 panels, and 2 workshops. Your digital ad will be placed before each of these events for 10 seconds with 5,200-5,500 impressions possible.

You can pay online (preferred) or send in payment via check or money order made payable to BlackStar Film Festival and mail to: 1229 Chestnut Street, #183, Philadelphia, PA 19107.

We will not process your ad until payment has been secured.

AD SIZING & SPECIFICATIONS

Print Ads

  • TIFF, JPEG, or print optimized PDF
  • 300 dpi (minimum resolution)
  • Printouts (hardcopies) are not recommended as quality cannot be assured
  • Ads will be printed in monochrome; save in grayscale format

Digital Onscreen Ads

  • Dimensions: 1920 pixels (wide) by 1080 pixels (high)
  • TIFF, JPEG, or PNG
  • 150 dpi (minimum resolution)
  • Onscreen ads should be in full color; save in RGB format

Note: great on-screen ads are often simple with limited text. Your ad will be on screen for 20 seconds; make them count with bold graphics, your website and dates. If you would like samples or assistance, let us know in advance.
