On Wednesday March 13 at 7:00pm, Reelblack, in partnership with Asian Arts Initiative, Art Sanctuary, and BlackStar Film Festival, will host the Philadelphia Premiere of BETTER MUS’ COME, the latest release from AFFRM/Array. Taking place at the Asian Arts Initiative (1219 Vine Street), this special one night only screening, is in advance of a week-long theatrical engagement in New York and Los Angeles.
Admissions is $10 for adults/$8 for students, seniors, Reelblack members, and Art Sanctuary members.
The film’s director Storm Saulter will be in attendance for a post-film Q&A.
BETTER MUS’ COME is the debut feature from writer/director Storm Saulter. It is a stunning love story unfolding at a time when rival Jamaican gangs were enlisted by warring political factions to disrupt the democratic process – and bloodshed was unleashed on the streets. Winner of Best Feature Awards at Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival and Bahamas International Film Festival, Best Director Award at Pan-African Film Festival and Best Actor Award at American Black Film Festival, the film has screened at Toronto International Film Festival, Film Society of Lincoln Center and British Film Institute.
