Ephraim Asili’s The Inheritance weaves the history of the West Philadelphia-based MOVE Organization, the Black Arts Movement, and a narrative based on the filmmaker’s younger years when he was a member of a Black radical collective.
Love + Grit is hosted by Laiya St. Clair, Rachel Ferguson and Justin Pizzi, with music by Philadelphia producer and DJ Dan “Dilemma” Thomas. Joining them in this special edition are Philadelphia filmmakers Nasya Jenkins (From Digital Divide to Digital Equity), Raishad Hardnett and Aidan Un (Sisters of the Soil) and Jeannine Cook, founder of Harriett’s Bookshop and Ida’s Bookshop.
