Shaolin Jazz presents Color of Sound

August 2, 2012

COLOR of SOUND, the newest creative extension of the SHAOLIN JAZZ music project, which will debut at the first annual BlackStar Film Festival, will highlight the visuals (music videos, art, and event photography) that have been created and taken for SHAOLIN JAZZ.

Art – artist Aniekan Udofia gives his visual interpretation (via paint, brush, and canvas) of SHAOLIN JAZZ through the creation of a series of artworks that he makes exclusively for each event, including the production of a Live Art Installation.

Music Videos – videographer and educator Tewodross Melchishua applies what he calls “Visual Magic” (an eclectic blend of vintage pictures, videos, and verbiage) to a variety of tracks from the SHAOLIN JAZZ catalog.

Photography – photographer Chris Carr has shot several marquee SHAOLIN JAZZ events and his unique eye and raw aesthetic gives each picture a genuine energy allowing the viewer to hear, smell, and touch each event.

COLOR of SOUND will be a distinct addition to the umbrella of SHAOLIN JAZZ events, where, in this case, the music takes a backseat to the bevy of visuals that have been inspired by the music’s artful blend of Wu-tang acapellas and carefully selected jazz instrumentals.
