Akili Z. Davis

Akili Z. Davis is a writer, curator, and cultural worker. She is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College with a degree in sociology and a minor in visual studies. In 2019, she co-curated Souls Grown Deep: Artists of the African American South at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and continued her work with the Souls Grown Deep Foundation & Community Partnership as a curatorial and research assistant, helping craft the renewed Gee’s Bend Cultural Trail to celebrate the iconic quilting community. In her free time she enjoys spending quality time with friends, fostering kittens, and perfecting the recipe for her signature Southern buttermilk biscuits.
