The Festival

The BlackStar Film Festival is an annual celebration of the visual and storytelling traditions of the African diaspora and of global indigenous communities, showcasing films by black people from around the world.

Deemed the “black Sundance” and the “Cannes of the Eastern Seaboard” by critics, BlackStar is equal parts family reunion, arthouse gathering, and an opportunity to connect independent filmmakers to new audiences.
