Amber Hunnicutt (she/her) is an educator, facilitator, and event producer who is passionate about using art as a tool for collective liberation.
Amber began her career planning events at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development and College of Global Public Health. As she started to hone her professional interests, she felt called to work in arts spaces and returned to school to learn how to best engage marginalized audiences in educational programming. Since completing graduate school, Amber has designed, facilitated, and produced educational experiences for people of all ages at MoMA, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Museum of Arts and Design, and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.
Amber holds a BA in Human Services from The George Washington University and an MSEd in Museum Education from Bank Street College of Education.
Outside of her work at BlackStar, Amber facilitates workshops on gender diversity for educators and youth workers. When she’s not working, she enjoys cooking, learning about plants, and spoiling her two cats.
