An animated still from The Shaman's Apprentice shows two Indigenous people crawling through a snowy cave. They are wearing large cloaks and have face paint. They have determined expressions.

Living Memory Shorts Program

This film program brings together a collection of works by Indigenous filmmakers whose practices center cultural memory, sovereignty, and creative resistance. Through a range of visual languages and storytelling traditions, the films honor enduring relationships to land, community, and spirit.

This screening will be part of the Philadelphia Art Museum’s Friday Night: Indigenous Heritage Edition. The night will also include music and dance by Ollin Yoliztli Calmecac and gallery talks that highlight indigenous stories in the collection. Community partners tabling throughout the night showcase some of the different work happening through indigenous-focused organizations in Philadelphia.
