Yance Ford

Yance Ford is an Oscar-nominated, Emmy-winning director whose work has made a lasting impact on the documentary field over the past two decades. His film Strong Island (2017) won a Gotham Award and a Primetime Emmy and was nominated for an Academy Award. Ford’s latest film, Power, premiered at Sundance in 2024 to critical acclaim for its unflinching examination of American policing. A Guggenheim and MacDowell Fellow, Ford has taught at colleges and universities nationwide. He is a graduate of the Third World Newsreel Production Workshop and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Directors Guild of America.
