Beandrea July

Beandrea July (@beandreadotcom) is a film programmer at the UCLA Film and Television Archive, independent culture writer, film critic, and audio producer based in Los Angeles. She was a 2023-24 Nieman Journalism Fellow at Harvard University where she studied Black film criticism in the early twentieth century. She is a freelance film critic for The New York Times and she was a producer on the 2023 CNN podcast The Prince Mixtape, which was named one of the best podcasts of 2023 by Spotify. Beandrea is a member of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.
