How do I purchase a pass or ticket?
All passes and tickets can be purchased via blackstarfest.org/festival/tickets. Early bird passes are available on May 7 until sold out. Regularly priced passes go on sale in June and individual tickets become available in July.
How much does it cost to attend?

Do I need to create an account in order to view films online during the Festival?
Yes, you will need to create an Eventive account in order to view our films online. You will be prompted to create an account when making your first pass or ticket purchase.
Will the venues be accessible?
All festival venues are wheelchair accessible. If you need accommodation or have any questions about accessibility, please contact Akili Davis at [email protected].
Is there a Member discount if I’m an active member?
Film Enthusiast level members receive a complimentary Ticket Bundle for the Festival. Film Scholar level members receive a complimentary All Access pass to the Festival. All members of our Luminary Giving Circle receive an All Access pass to the Festival as well.
The bundle or pass will be added to your Eventive account automatically at least one week before the Festival. Members do not receive any additional discount on passes and tickets, though all Members do receive access to presales, discounts on Festival merchandise, and other year-round benefits. Are there discounts for ACCESS cardholders?
BlackStar offers ACCESS cardholders individual tickets to the virtual festival and in-person screenings for $2.00. To receive the discounted tickets, use the code “ACCAR24” at checkout when purchasing an individual ticket. When arriving for an in-person event, you may be asked to present your ACCESS card.
Individual tickets go on sale in July 2025.
What access does my all access pass give me?

What access does my industry pass give me?

What access does my bundle give me?
Bundles are groups of individual tickets added to the buyer’s account and are not meant for group use.
- In-person bundle includes 5 tickets that can be used for 5 different in-person screenings during the length of the Festival.
- Virtual bundle includes 5 tickets that can be used for 5 different virtual screenings during the length of the Festival.
Award winner bundle includes virtual access to all award-winning films (to be announced August 4) for three days following the end of the Festival.
When will my pass or bundle be available and for how long?
Your pass or bundle is immediately available after purchase or at the start of the festival.
An All Access or Virtual pass will work until the end of the festival.
Industry and Press Pass holders have extended access to films playing within the virtual platform.
An Award winner bundle will work from August 4 through August 7 only.
I purchased a pass to attend in-person screenings and events. Where do I pick this up?
All passes can be picked up onsite from July 31 – Aug 3. Additional information about where and when to pick up passes will be provided prior to the festival. You can also access your pass virtually any time at festival.blackstarfest.org/passes.
How do I purchase an Industry Pass?
Industry Passes for the 2025 BlackStar Film Festival are available to pre-approved industry professionals. The application for Industry Passes will open in June. The cost of the pass is $500.
How do I request a Press Pass?
All requests for media credentials must be emailed directly to [email protected].
Credential requests must be submitted by July 28 at 5 pm EDT to receive advance consideration. Media credentials will be granted to media personnel on assignment to cover BlackStar events for online and print publications, cable networks and/or radio and television stations. If you are accepted to receive credentials, you will be notified by email with further instructions.
Do I need to reserve a ticket to a screening if I have an All Access pass?
Though All Access and Industry pass holders can attend all events without pre-registering, it is highly recommended that you RSVP, as many events will sell out and we do not guarantee space without pre-registration. If you do not plan to reserve a screening ticket, we recommend arriving to the theater 30 minutes before the listed start time.

Is there a box office onsite?
There is no physical box office available prior to the start of the Festival. From July 31-August 3, the main box office will be open and located on level B of the Kimmel Center.
