Each individual Day Pass gives you access to all content streaming through the 2020 BlackStar Film Festival platform on that particular day and only that day. To access additional days of the festival customers must buy additional Day Passes or one Festival Pass, which gives access to all seven days of the festival.

Note: Online events, such as the BlackStar Live! morning show and any panels, do not require online registration. These events will be streamed freely from BlackStar’s YouTube channel, Facebook, and this website. Check schedule page for info.

Passes are now on sale for all days of the festival and are only available online.

NOTE: Certain films in the schedule may be geoblocked or have limits on capacity. See list below.

The festival pass provides access to all festival events and includes a donation to support BlackStar Projects and our year-round work. Additional perks include:

  • Admission to BlackStar Pitch Session
  • Year-Round BlackStar Membership (learn more about membership benefits here)

If you would like to discuss group sales please contact star@blackstarfest.org

Festival Passes are only available online.

Note Re: Digital Platform

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 BlackStar Film Festival has moved online. We are utilizing a platform called CineSend which gives viewers a high quality in-home cinematic experience while also providing MPAA-accredited DRM protection for our filmmakers. Our online festival will mimic the experience of our in-person festival as much as possible, with films playing at set times according to the festival schedule.

Once a pass is purchased, the customer will receive an email with a link to sign into watch.blackstarfest.org, where they will be able to stream all of this year’s films. All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges will be given. If you have any trouble using the ticketing system, please contact tickets@blackstarfest.org.

Geoblocking and Screening Capacity

A select few films have restrictions on where they can be viewed and on the amount of passholders who will be able to screen them.

Geographically-Restricted

Films only available to viewers in the United States and other U.S. occupied lands, including American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and United States Virgin Islands.

Limited Capacity

Films restricted to the first 500 passholders who press play at the scheduled screening time.
